For tiny scraps of metal, swarf can be a big headache
If you work with metal, then you work with swarf – metal debris produced by cutting and installing sheetmetal products.
These little scraps of metal can cause you problems if the particles damage your Colorbond® coating. This can be anywhere on the scale ranging from cosmetic rust stains that don’t damage the product performance, to premature corrosion shortening the product lifespan.
Of course, the best way to reduce swarf onsite is to let us do the cutting for you. Ordering your products to exact specifications means you don’t need to cut. But we know that sometimes you can’t avoid cutting on the job, so we’ve compiled a list of things to do that will help stop swarf damage, as well as how to clean up when you get swarf staining. We hope you find this helpful.
